
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred Thursday, May 1, 2025, on Farm-to-Market Road 1006 in Orange.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approxiamtley 6:30 a.m., a 2019 Ford passenger car and a vehicle described as a dark colored pickup were traveling west on F.M. 1006, while a 2025 Chevrolet SUV and a 2015 Dodge passenger car were traveling east. It is reported that the dark colored pickup struck the rear of the Ford passenger car, and pushed it into the oncoming lane, where it struck the Chevrolet SUV. After the impact, it is reported that the dark colored pickup struck the Ford passenger car again, which caused it to strike the Dodge passenger car. After the crash occurred, the dark color pickup fled the scene and has not been located.

The driver of the 2019 Ford passenger car, was pronounced deceased on scene by a Justice of the Peace. Their information is not immediately available pending notification of their next of kin.
The driver of the 2025 Chevrolet SUV, identified as 50-year-old Theresa Owens of Orange, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the 2015 Dodge passenger car, identified as 30-year-old Jose Zuniga of Florida, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
