On August 17th, 2025 at about 10:41am Beaumont Police Officers were dispatched to a major traffic crash in the area of the 1100 block of IH-10 East. Traffic was stopped and backed up into Orange County for more than three hours.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a pickup truck was traveling westbound in this area and lost its trailer and a lawn mower. An 18-wheeler traveling behind the pickup, struck the lawn mower and trailer. A second 18-wheeler attempted to avoid collision but struck the first 18-wheeler as well as another pickup truck.
One of the drivers suffered a substantial injury to his arm and was transported to a local hospital. No other injuries were reported.
The crash caused a large oil spill on the highway. Beaumont Fire responded to the scene and conducted the cleanup. The freeway was fully reopened at approximately 1:50pm.
The crash remains under investigation.
