Highway 62 was closed for several hours Sunday night following a three car accident. The accident happened in the 7600 block, approximately three miles north of IH-10.
According to Orange Police a red Toyota pickup, driven by Jerry Modisette, 89, of Orange, was traveling northbound in the southbound lane when he hit a tan colored Toyota pickup traveling south, causing it to flip over. The red truck ended up in the ditch and a third vehicle, a silver Kia, was traveling south and struck the debris in the road and also ended up in the ditch. Several southbound vehicles had pulled over to avoid Modisette, before he struck the tan Toyota.
Modisette and the driver of the tan pickup, 54 year old Donnie Pelt of Warren, were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
