A two-vehicle head-on collision Monday about four miles east of Lufkin on State Highway 103 has resulted in three fatalities. A Dodge Neon attempted to pass another car when it ran head on into a Jeep, according to KTRE. Carl Hammerly, a 49 year old LCM Class of 1984 grad living in Broaddus, was pronounced dead at the scene. The two people in the jeep later died of their injuries. They were identified as 68-year-old Sarah Melinda Ryan and 70-year-old James Harvey Ryan of Etoile.
