
On Saturday, Dec. 29 at 4:45 am, officers of the Orange Police Department were dispatched to the Texas Travel Information Center, 1708 IH-10E in regards to a major accident. Upon arrival officers found that a white 2014 Chevrolet pickup driven by a 41 year old male from Sulphur, Louisiana, failed to control his speed entering the Information Center and struck two parked vehicles. The truck first struck a black 2014 Toyota Corolla occupied by two females aged 37 and 38 years old from Lockhart, Texas. The 37 year old female was transported by Acadian Ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital and the 38 year old female was transported by Air Med Helicopter to St. Elizabeth. Their conditions are unknown at this time. The second parked vehicle that was struck was a black 2012 Chevrolet Silverado occupied by a 54 year old male and a 50 year old female from Pasadena, Texas. They suffered minor injuries, but did not seek treatment. The 41 year old male did not seek treatment for minor injuries and was issued a citation for Failure to Control Speed. The Orange Fire Department responded to the scene to assist with the injured.
