A man and woman were robbed at gunpoint as they left a house in the Old Orange Historic District about midnight Thursday. Orange police report one of the two male robbers held a silver pistol to the man’s head. Officer Isaac Henry said the robbers stole two smart phones, a gold necklace, gold bracelet, gold watch and cash from the couple. In addition the robbers took the key to the woman’s Chevrolet Trailblazer.
The robbery was at a house in the 800 block of Orange Avenue. The man and woman told Officer Henry they were walking to the SUV when the two men ambushed them. The robbers forced the couple to the ground and then went through their pockets.
Two daytime break-ins were reported Thursday at the housing complex on Cove Drive. The first was reported at 1:40 p.m. when a woman discovered that a bedroom window had been broken and unlocked. A 48-inch TV and a 32-inch TV were stolen. Then at 4:29 p.m., a man called to say he returned from work to find his apartment in disarray. A wallet with money and identification were stolen.
On Thursday morning, a man in the Old Orange Historic District reported that a bathtub had been stolen from his driveway. The bathtub had been delivered to the house in the 900 block of Seventh Street. The man said he saw the bathtub about 9:45 Wednesday night. By 6:50 Thursday morning, the bathtub was gone.
