Karen Christman, 70, died peacefully at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas, after an unfortunate battle with cancer.
Karen spent her formative years growing up with family in Southeast Texas, then was able to travel extensively and lived in other beautiful parts of the world with her career as a Federal Employee. She chose to return to her hometown after retirement to be close to family, and because it held a beautiful place in her heart.
Karen was an honors graduate from Vidor High School in 1974. She served in the United States Army from 1978-1982. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Karen began her career for the US government and graduated from the University of Maryland. Karen retired in 2012, and since that time, she resided in her hometown of Vidor. She served faithfully in many roles in her ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed many close friendships.
Karen was the third of seven children of Asa and Modie Christman, who preceded her in death, as well as did her older brother, Richard Christman. Her surviving siblings are Clarice Bird, Connie Christman, Laurel Barton, Logan Christman and Andrea Poole, and her in-laws Bill Bird, Vivian Christman, Carey Barton, Karrie Christman and John Poole. She also had a deep love for her many nieces & nephews, and great-nieces & nephews.
Karen will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
