
Lanita Mae Burch, 74, of the Echo Community of Orange, passed away Friday morning, September 4, 2015 at her home. Born on March 5, 1941 in Center, Texas to her parents, Marlon Gaston Choate and Lera Evelyn (Evans) Choate. She lived in Orange for many years and worked as a Secretary for Sears, Roebuck and Company in Orange. Lanita enjoyed going camping and reading. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Lanita is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Johnny Choate. Those who will most cherish her memory are her husband of 29 years, Bill Burch of Orange; her daughter, Teri Walter and husband, Todd of Vinton, Louisiana; her sons, Michael Adams and wife, Michelle of Spring Hill, Tennessee, Billy Burch and wife, Melinda of Angleton, Texas and Bobby Burch and wife, Johnny of San Antonio; her brother, Kelly Choate and wife, Sue of North Carolina; her sister Kitten Fuller and husband, David of Orange; her sister in law, Wynell Choate of Arkansas; her loving dog, Gabby; her Brownwood Baptist Church family; her special friends, Mary Brister and Mary Jane Jenkins; her nine grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Services for which to remember and honor Lanita’s life will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 7, 2015 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange with Pastor James Phillips, officiating. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow services where she will be laid to rest at Ida Wilson Cemetery in the Echo Community of Orange. A gathering of Lanita’s family and friends will be from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. Sunday, September 6, 2015 at the funeral home. Honoring Lanita as pallbearers are Kelly Choate, David Fuller, Todd Walter, Dakota Burch, Caleb Adams and Dewey Woods. Honorary pallbearers are Cliff Jenkins and Edgar Brister.
