Small in stature but huge on results. Bridge City’s Abraham Munguia and West Orange-Stark’s Khelvy Jefferson are the KOGT Players of the Week sponsored by Team Granger. Both were instrumental in the Cardinals and Mustangs reaching the third round of the playoffs.
Against Navasota, “Mungy” rushed 11 times for 93 yards and three touchdowns. He caught five passes for 60 and kicked five PAT’s.
Jefferson rushed 22 times for 153 yards and three second half touchdowns to lead the Mustangs to a comeback win over Robinson. In the process he also set a new season rushing record at WOS.
Bridge City will play Kilgore on Friday at 2pm and the Mustangs face Sealy at 7pm. Both games at Randall Reed Stadium in New Caney.
