Four people have been charged with being involved of the death of Joshua Larkin of Newton County, who has been missing since November 2022.
Newton County Sheriff Colton Havard was joined in a press conference Monday by Jasper County Co. Sheriff Chuck Havard and investigators from both departments, including David Lampman of Orange who works for the Jasper SO.
The Sheriff announced that Justin James and Body Bierhalter have been charged with murder and attempt to impair a corpse. James Jones and Rodney Blankenship have been charged with tampering with evidence. Bierhalter was arrested Monday at a rehab facility in Houston. Jones was arrested Monday in Kirbyville. James and Blankenship were already in jail.
Havard said Larkin’s remains have not been located but the Sheriff says they will continue to search and investigate to give closure to his family. He also said the four charged were acquaintances of Larkin.
