The Deweyville Pirates opened their playoff game with a 10 minute drive, a touchdown and a two point conversion. Grapeland got the ball and scored in one play to tie. That’s kind of how the rest of the game went as the Sandies beat the Pirates 50-21.
The game was tied at 15 before Grapeland rolled off 20 unanswered points to lead 35-15 at the half. Pirate turnovers helped the Sandies roll out a big lead.
Deweyville ends the season 5-5. Grapeland (8-3) will play Bremond, who defeated Simms Bowie 55-24.
