Carrie Woliver with the “Save The Depot” Project has scored her first item for the depot’s museum. Woliver said her and a friend discovered the brass spittoon with the Union Pacific logo at a resale shop in Houston and she purchased it for the downtown Orange location. She also said there is a Museum Committee that will be surveying the public and asking for memorabilia that has to do with railroads, petrochemicals, timber and shipbuilding, for the exhibits in the museum. The Friends of the Orange Depot are still taking donations and bricks can still be purchased from their website orangetxdepot.org.
