The LCM Bears didn’t get to celebrate their big win over Bridge City for long with Huffman coming to Battlin’ Bear Stadium Friday. The Bears defense played their best game of the season and they’ll have to do it again as they face the top offense in the district, averaging 456 yards per game.
Orangefield is back in action after a week off and they have a big one with East Chambers to decide second and third. The Bobcats district (10-3A D1) will face District 9 in the first round. Currently that district has Fairfield (3-0, 8-0), Westwood (2-1, 7-1), Crockett (2-1, 5-3) Diboll (1-2, 2-6) and Teague (1-2, 4-4). Fairfield and Westwood play Friday.
Friday is Snapshot Day which is when schools turn in their enrollment numbers for the realignment in February. Probably won’t be a lot of changes here in the 409 but I’m sure the members of 12-3A D2 would love to get away from Newton.
The Eagles have outscored their district opponents 322-33 and they have Warren this week. Last year it was 326-43.
