
Community Christian School Volleyball has qualified for the TCAL (Texas Christian Athletic League) State Volleyball Tournament for the first time in school history. The team placed third in the Region to make it to the state tournament held in Buda, Texas at St. Edwards University. They played their first round Thursday at 10:00a.m. against San Antonio McCauley Christian. The girls went head to head in this first round winning in 3-2. The sets were incredibly tight. Scores: 16-25, 26-24, 20-25, 25-19, 16-14. They will play again on Friday at 1:30p.m.
Coaches, Anna Walker- Johnson and Scott Kleinpeter said, “We started with the girls early this year to work on fundamentals and teamwork. Most importantly we told the girls to keep Christ in the center of everything. Towards the end of the season everything started to fall into place. These girls have worked super hard this year and can’t wait to experience everything this state championship weekend has to offer.”

The CCS Lions recently traveled to College Station to compete in the TCAL State Cross Country Championship. The boys team finished as runners-up with 37 total team points in Division 2 Varsity with 2 medalists.

Community Christian School honored Breast Cancer Awareness Month by holding a Pink Out Pep Rally. Cheer Coach, Kerri Garza, and her cheerleaders came up with fun games and cheers for the students to enjoy while also taking time to remember all the breast cancer warriors and their families. This will be an annual event at the school every October.
