So late Friday night everyone would have played at least one district game as each week counts from here on.
So what do we know at this point? Hardin’s undefeated record is legit. They’ve already defeated their toughest competition and can probably order their district champion t-shirts. Bridge City and Shepherd are undefeated with their toughest competition still on the schedule. Shepherd hasn’t played anyone with a winning record and BC has played just one in the Orangefield Bobcats.
The Cards have been putting up some crazy numbers despite dealing with a handful of injuries. Seven touchdown passes last week by Hudson Hoffman and three straight weeks of Abraham Munguia catching more than 10 passes. And he had 229 receiving yards in one of those games.
The Bears are starting to build some momentum, just like they did at this time last year. And they face a Livingston team that started with a new coach and a 2-0 start. But now they’ve lost three in a row and LCM will try to extend their losing streak.
Game(s) of the week should be Hamshire-Fannett at Silsbee, Newton at Woodville, Baytown Sterling at West Brook and possibly Memorial at Barbers Hill.
