Orangefield put together a good game plan to cage the Anahuac Panthers for Homecoming. Mason Manning opened the scoring with a 40 yd. run for a TD on their first series. The Panthers would hang around in the first half, down 21-14 late in the second quarter. But Colton Michael would squash any momentum they had with a blocked punt with a minute to play. Manning would score his fourth TD for a 28-14 lead. Manning would finish 134 yds. while QB Carson Gonzales was 10-11 for 228 yds. and two TD’s. Kaleb Menard and Hayden Clark would anchor the defense that shutout Anahuac in the second half. The Bobcats travel to Coldspring Friday.
LCM 17 Hardin-Jefferson 14
With the Hawks up 14-10 late in the game the Battlin’ Bears would drive down the field and get a 15 yd strike from Jakson Struwe to Parker Freeman with 3 minutes to play to give LCM the three point win. Bears kicker Isiah Watzlavik provided the difference in the second qtr. with a 43 yd FG just before the half. Struwe finished with 94 yds. on the ground and 56 through the air. J’Lynn Morris (16-39) scored the other LCM TD in the first quarter. Bears host Livingston Friday.

The Pirates had a great night of Offense with a total of 515 yards. Leading rusher for the Pirates was Jaxon Slone. The QB had 230 yards on 7 carries and 5 TD’s. Slade Gunter had 80 yards on 4 carries and 1 TD, Lane Burke had 62 yards on 8 carries and Kylor Hyatt had 59 yards on 1 carry and 1 TD. The Pirates even up their overall record to 3-3 and 1-1 in District and will travel to Hull-Daisetta Friday.
