
Hardin 38 Orangefield 29
The Orangefield Bobcats traveled to face the Hardin Hornets to kick off district play. The teams traded scoring drives with OF responding with a 17 play drive ending in a Carson Gonzales pass to Rylan McAlpin.
Hardin had 12-7 lead at halftime. The Bobcats took a 14-12 lead after a 27 yd TD run by Mason Manning. Manning would add a 71 yd TD after a Hornet score to make it 21-20. The two continued to see saw with Hardin holding a late 32-29 edge before adding a late TD to win 38-29. OF is now 3-2, 0-1 and will host Anahuac for Homecoming Friday

Bridge City 40 Lumberton 23
Cards playing without All-District RB Ashton Sumrall scored first on QB Hudson Hoffman plunge. BC would take a two score lead on an incredible catch and run for 91 for Abraham Munguia. It would be the first of his three TD’s. BC took a 19-7 lead at the half before Gabby Moore was crowned BC Homecoming Queen.
John Smart, seeing his first action at RB, scampered 64 for a score to make it 26-7. The Raiders would make it interesting when a FG with a minute left in the third cut BC’s lead to 26-17. But the Redbirds would put them away as Hoffman threw another TD pass and finished with 337 yds. in the air. Koby Dean was the beast on defense with 10 tackles and a sack. Cards (4-0, 1-0) go to Vidor (0-4, 0-1) Friday.

Crawford 29 WOS 22
The game was played Saturday. Once again the Mustangs dug themselves a hole that was too deep to climb out of. They got down 29-7 at the half before mounting a comeback that fell short. Crawford, out of Fort Bend improved to 4-1 while the Mustangs fell to 2-3 and get a needed bye after three straight long road trips. They’ll open district Oct. 10 vs. Jasper for Homecoming.

West Sabine 42 Deweyville 18
It was a close game at the half with the Pirates down 14-12. The Tigers came out strong in the second half and took the Pirates out of their game plan. Deweyville (2-3, 0-1) finished with 177 yards of offense. Jaxon Sloan leading the way with 91 yds. Pirates play Colmesneil Friday for Homecoming.
