
Kennith “Papa Ken” Johnson 90, of Bridge City, Texas passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas. A private burial will take place at a later date at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells, Texas.
Visitation time will be held prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born on July 27, 1935, in Bertie County, North Carolina, Ken lived a long and full life marked by service, hard work, devotion to God and his family, accompanied by an endless supply of stories.
A proud United States Air Force veteran, Ken honorably served his country for more than 22 years. After retiring from the military, he carried his discipline, work ethic, and determination into every aspect of his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Linda “Grammy” Johnson, his daughter-in-law Michelle Johnson, and his grandchildren: Keegan Johnson (Megan), Halen Borg (Jade), Braden Borg (Klynn), and Annelise Borg (Haley). He was also blessed with great joy in his treasured great-grandchildren: Sunny Johnson, Colton Borg, Gunner Borg, Eastynn Borg, and Braelynn Borg.
Ken is also survived by his brother Johnny Johnson (Nancy) of South Carolina, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Johnson.
Known for his strong work ethic and remarkable craftsmanship, there was nothing Ken could not build or fix. He loved being outdoors, walking or sitting on his swingset, watching football, reading books, and telling a funny story or two. always bringing a smile to those around him. His warmth, humor, and storytelling will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
