On Thursday, September 18th, 2025, at approximately 11:30 am, City of Orange Police Department was dispatched to Orange Hollywood Cemetery in the 1300 block of Simmons Drive in reference to a headstone being destroyed. The headstone belonging to the grave of singer/musician Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown had been broken in two. This is at least the third time it has been damaged.
The monument had just been replaced in July after fundraising efforts.
