The Bridge City Cardinals jumped out to a 28-0 lead and then coasted to a 2-0 start. BC scored through the air, on the ground, on special teams, and they blocked an extra point. QB Hudson Hoffman threw 3TD’s and Ashton Sumrall ran for 113 yds. Defensively Bryce Breeden had 9 tackles, a sack, 2 TFL’s and a blocked punt recovery for a score. The Bears rushing offense was shutdown by the Tigers. LCM had (-9) yds on 23 carries while Silsbee ran for 231 with T. Hafford leading the way with 152 yds. QB Jakson Struwe was forced to throw the ball more and had a good game going 14-23 for 231 with 2TD’s and no interceptions. The touchdowns were caught by J’Lynn Morris (54 yds) and KD Reed (17). Bears (0-2) travel to Louisiana to play Iowa.
Nederland 14 WOS 6
Nederland had a 14-0 lead in the fourth quarter when the Mustangs scored but missed the PAT. WOS (1-1) was driving when time ran out. Besides the Bulldogs, penalties hurt the Mustangs who will travel to play Waco LaVega in Nacogdoches.
Santa Fe 48 Vidor 14
Santa Fe got revenge on the Pirates after losing to Vidor 28-14 a year ago. The Indians jumped out to a 20-0 halftime lead using several long touchdowns. SF Sophomore RB Tyler Puccetti rushed for 151 yds. The Pirates (0-2) will host (2-0) Hamshire-Fannett

Cushing 16 Deweyville 6
The Pirates had more total yards than Cushing but it didn’t show on the scoreboard as Deweyville fell to 1-1. Elijah Milton lead the Pirates with 87 of the Pirates 188 yds. Deweyville will face Hardin on Friday.
