The old rest area on the east bound side of I-10 near Claiborne Park a mile marker 868 is seeing a lot of action lately from bulldozers and other heavy equipment.
KOGT spoke with Tanya Avila of TxDOT who said “This site will be an 18-wheeler truck parking lot. This is part of a statewide initiative to address the shortage of safe and accessible parking for commercial vehicles.”
Avila said there was no timeline as to when the parking area will be completed.
