The third annual Back to School Bash sponsored by the Shock Foundation took place Saturday at Lions Park. Shock Foster, the WBC Super Featherweight Champ, said they provided backpacks and school supplies for 600 kids.
“I didn’t have this when I was a kid so it’s my chance to give back to the community. I remember Earl (Thomas) did it one year and I thought if I ever had the opportunity, I would try to do the same,” Foster said.
Besides supplies there were bounce houses and food handed out.
Foster said every year the number of kids has gone up and he hopes to continue to provide for underprivileged kids for as many years as he can.
