Danny Edward Winfree, 66, passed away on July 16, 2025, in Orange, Texas—the town where he was born and spent his life. Born on October 9, 1958, Danny attended Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School and worked as a longshoreman with ILA Local 21.
He loved playing guitar and singing, and he spent time drawing and painting when the mood struck. He also had a talent for fixing things and could figure out how to get just about anything working again. He was a Christian who loved Jesus and read his Bible daily. His faith was a steady part of his life and shaped the way he saw the world.
Danny is survived by his daughter, Ashley Pierce, and her husband, Dr. Justin Pierce; his son, Daniel Winfree; his mother, Dorothy Winfree; his brother, Dave Winfree; his sister, Lena Duhon; and his grandchildren: Brielle and Brynnlie Winfree; and Justin Jr., Levi, Madeline, Emily, and Theodore Pierce. He was preceded in death by his father, Don Winfree. A Graveside Service will be held on July 30, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park, 5432 Old Hwy 90.
