Linda Sue Boren was born on March 20, 1944 in Shreveport, LA. Her family moved to the Dallas area when she was 9 years old. That is when she met Deborah Boren, and they become close friends. She and Deborah would go on long walks together. Through Deborah, Linda met the rest of the Boren family. She enjoyed spending time at their house where she felt loved. At that time, Bobby was 15 years old, so she was just a friend of his sister.
When Linda was 15 years old, Bobby came home from the Navy, and they began dating. They married a year later on September 7, 1960.
Linda was a housewife and mother for the first 3 years of their marriage. Around 1964 God called them into the ministry. They went to New Mexico to work with the Navajo Indians telling them about Jesus. After that, they pastured for First Assembly of God churches wherever God lead them.
In 1976, they were between churches and moved to Bride City, TX so Bobby could work in construction with his brother Billy. Billy was the pastor at the First Assembly of God Church there. Bobby would also preach there at times.
When it was time for the church to vote on a pastor, Billy asked the congregation to vote on Bobby instead. The church voted Bobby in to be their pastor. Linda served the church with him and God moved in mighty ways as many souls were saved and the church grew. They pastored at First Assembly of God in Bridge City for 30 years before retiring.
Linda loved to witness to people everywhere she went. She was a sweet and beautiful person who loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a good mother to Robin, Timothy, and Michelle. She was a grandmother to Erin, Anthony, Ellen, and Kirby; a great grandmother to Callahan, Carter, Cambridge, Avenleigh, Mackllan, and Elijah.
Linda went to her heavenly home while in her own bed at home on July 12 around 2:08 pm while her daughter Robin and son-in-law Pat were holding her hands. She will be greatly missed but one day we will be together again soon.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, July 19, at the Bridge City Assembly of God Church.
