Coach Chris Bradford is wearing the green and gold after being hired to coach the Bear soccer program. Boys or girls? How about both.
It’s not unheard of but it’s been a while since we’ve seen one head coach for both the boys and girls program. Bradford is ready for the challenge.
“I’ve coached several club soccer teams and still played semi-pro all at the same time,” Bradford said of his energy for the game of soccer. “I’m excited about the opportunity to work with both sides. There may be a few unknowns along the way but we’ll buckle down and get it done.”
Bradford played at West Brook, graduating in 2006 before playing on a club team at Lamar while he went to college. He would also play midfielder/forward in the Major Arena Soccer League where he played with players from all over the world and felt like he really expanded his knowledge of the game.
He has spent the last eight seasons coaching at Port Arthur Memorial. They advanced to the second round of the 5A playoffs last season.
The new coach is hitting the ground running with a Skills Program at LCM next week. It will be July 14-31 (Mon-Thurs) for players from the 7th grade thru 12th. Details are below.
Coach Bradford is married with two children.
