On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, just before 11a.m., deputies with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office were patrolling County Road 4213 in Deweyville when they conducted a pedestrian stop on a white female, identified as Cori Leigh Cole. While speaking with Cole, deputies observed signs of intoxication. Cole was uncooperative with deputies and told them, “just take me to jail.” Cole was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Newton County Jail, where she was charged with Public Intoxication.
