Angela lived most of her life at Lufkin State Supported Living Center where she happily resided for over 50 years with her best friends. While there, she attended school, participated in numerous scholastic and extracurricular activities. She also worked in the campus workshop, from where she retired.
She was active with the Special Olympics for several years when she was younger, but Angela truly favored her music classes. She competed for many years in Music Festivals all over the state of Texas, winning many trophies and ribbons. Angela also loved time with her family and friends, traveling to new places on vacation, writing, coloring, watching Disney movies and listening to show tunes and country music artists. Everyone that knew Angela knew that her favorite holidays were Christmas and her Birthday Month! Angela was a proud breast cancer survivor and was recognized at the Annual Angelina Rodeo as the Susan Komen Hero Rodeo Queen.
Angela was different from most of us and required our extra love and care during her life. She was God’s gift to our family as well as every one of our friends and extended family members. Angela was truly a light in our lives as she embodied kindness, humor and love to everyone who knew her. God entrusted us with sweet Angela for 60 years and He has now called her to His side where she will again be joined with her beloved mother, father and brother. Baby sister, you are now perfect and free from your worldly constraints and will forever be our Special Little Angel.
