Around 9:45pm Monday night Orange Police received a call of a gunshot victim at a home located at 2000 6th Street which is near the North Early Learning Center.
Officers and first responders found a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside the home. He was life flighted to a Beaumont hospital in serious condition. Family members have confirmed that he passed early Tuesday and identified the deceased as 62 year old Charles Declouet.
Authorities say they believe someone came to the home and shot through the window while several people were inside. Only one person was hit and he was visiting the home. The shooter left the scene.
The investigation is ongoing by the Orange Police Department.
