Ruth Ellen Armstreet, age 91, passed peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family who love her deeply on Friday, April 4, 2025.
On Tuesday, December 26, 1933, Ruth was born to Helen L. (Clark) and Arvil Lee Fair, in Hugo, Oklahoma. Ruth was the first child of Helen and Arvil, and the older sister to 5 siblings which she loved dearly. Ruth loved to share “life stories”, many of which originated from her time in Oklahoma as a young girl. She fondly recounted her summers in Oklahoma with her grandparents where her love of gardening, especially fresh cucumbers, and the reward of hard work blossomed.
On June 13th, 1952, Ruth married the love of her life, James Dail Armstreet. Their love story was one for the ages, she spoke of how she prayed for him as a young girl. Right down the details of his curly hair and kind heart. Their love and family grew over nearly 46 years of marriage. Ruth and James shared their love for creating beautiful jewelry, art, and furniture. They enjoyed God’s creation and spent much of their time at the lake where they eventually retired and spent precious time with their children and later with their grandchildren.
Ruth was a devoted wife, affectionate mother, doting grandmother, adoring great grandmother and woman after God’s own heart. The Lord’s Spirit was in her and showed through her daily. She had a special way of making the ones she held close feel incredible love and understanding. She lived a life of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Her life and legacy have set an example, we will carry her with us always. Remembering her in the joys of life as well as the challenges.

To The Ones I Love So Dearly,
Miss me…but let me go
Miss me…but let me go, when I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me I no rites in gloom filled rooms
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me…a little, but not too long. And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me…but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take and each must go along
It’s all a part of the Master’s Plan
A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart.
Go to the Friends we know and bury your sorrow in doing good deeds
Miss me…but let me go.
