
The Orangefield Lady Bobcats liked winning the District Title so much they decided to win the Area Meet too as the coaches show off the Area trophy.
In a meet between District 21 and 22-3A in Diboll Wednesday, the Lady Bobcats beat East Chambers and the field for the Area trophy with 107 points. The boys finished fourth with host Diboll taking the team title. The top four finishers advance to the 3A Region III Meet, April 18-19 in Huntsville.
Haylee Spears duplicated her district performance with a first place finish in the discus at 119-1. Charlee Sanches was third and Madison McCormack fourth. Spears and McCormack also advanced in the shot finishing third and fourth.
Tyla McKnight was second in the triple jump (34-1). Remi Moran was fourth in the high jump at 5-0 and Hallee Becker was third in the pole vault at 9-0.
Natalie Black was third in the Long Jump (15-8.5) McKnight was fourth (15-8.25).
Black also qualified in the 100 (3rd, 12.95) and in the 200 (3rd, 27.22).
Kendall Sullivan finished fourth in the 1600 (6:00) and Trinity Gordon was third in the 3200 (13:28).
Brooklyn Wagoner was second in the 400 (1:02) and the Bobcat 4×400 (Borel, Sonnier, Becker, Mouton) was fourth with a time of 4:26.
Qualifying for Regionals for the Bobcat boys included a 1-2-3 finish in the pole vault lead by Zach Morrow (13-0), Gavin Gravett (12-6) and Dacius Lytle (9-6).
Morrow was fourth in the Triple Jump (41-1.5) and in the long jump (20-11.5). Kyran Morrow qualified in two events. The freshman was second in the 300 hurdles (44.09) and third in the 110 hurdles (16.37).
Owen Simms qualified in the high jump finishing second (6-0) and Jaxon Agerton fourth (5-8).
The Bobcats 4×100 team finished fourth with a time of 43.61.
