
Mary Ann Flores, 72, of Orange, Texas, passed away on March 27, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas.
Born on November 9, 1952, she was the daughter of Oliver Sterling and Rosemary James Sterling. Mary’s life was one marked by creativity, joy, and a love for simple pleasures. She was a vibrant soul who embraced life with a remarkable passion. She dedicated countless hours to her hobbies, finding joy in crafts that showcased her artistic talents. A true lover of the outdoors, Mary cherished her time at the beach, where the sound of the waves brought her peace and happiness. She found immense delight in crabbing, an activity that allowed her to connect with nature and enjoy the thrill of the catch. She also had a keen eye for treasure, often venturing out to garage sales and thrift shops where she would discover unique items, each with its own story to tell. She also loved playing card games, especially Phase 10, which brought friends and family together for evenings filled with laughter and fun. Mary’s spirit and zest for life will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of creativity and joy serves as a reminder of the beauty in every moment and the importance of cherishing our passions.
She is survived by her children, Michele Walp and husband, David, Ralph Flores, and Sue Tiner and husband, Paul Knost; her grandchildren, Mary Alex McMillan, Alicia Alvarez, Caira Bodine, Kassandra Flores, and Desire’ Wenzel; her great-grandchild, Augustus Alvarez; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
