
The women’s state powerlifting contest was held in Edinburgh and our area had a good contingent of young women compete and two came home STATE CHAMPIONS.
The total weight comes from the total of bench, squat and deadlift.
In Class 4A-
Madison Watson of Vidor is the 198 State Champion with 1135 total including 315 in the bench.
Presley Lackey of BC is the 148 State Champion with 1080 total including a 410 deadlift.
Vidor’s Lana Skinner was third (132) with a total of 895.
BC’s Hallie Bearden was fourth (123) with a total of 915.
Taylor Light of Vidor was 8th (220) with a total of 765.
LCM’s Gracelyn Smith was 9th (97) with a total of 510
Alasia Allen of LCM was 7th (242) with at 740 total.
LCM’s Kiari Walsten was 13th (220) with a total of 700.
Karlee Cooksey of LCM finished 9th (198) with a total of 685.
April Miller of BC was 10th (181) with a 545 total.
Gabby Moore of BC was 8th (132) at 615 including state record 315 deadlift.
BC freshman Kylie Chance was 11th (114) with a 480 total.
In 3A-
Orangefield’s Sadie Malagarie was 10th (114) with a total of 735.
In 2A- (Deweyville)
Kaitlynn Cibrian was 6th (242) with a total of 855.
Makenzie Cloud was 12th (181) with a total of 665.
Ashtin Stout was 10th (165) with a total of 795.
Crysta Caswell totaled 670 in the 123’s for 12th place.
Savannah Lout totaled 480 in the 105’s for 13th place.
