Lee Roy Ward, 89, of Vidor, Texas, passed away on Sunday, March 2nd, 2025, at Riceland Medical Center in Winnie, Texas. A longtime resident of Vidor, Lee Roy was known for his hardworking nature, his love for the outdoors, and his devotion to his family.
He found great joy in tending to his land, taking pride in the time he spent caring for his property. Some of his most cherished moments were spent working alongside his son, fixing and building things together, creating not only lasting projects but also treasured memories. One of his favorite pastimes was picking muscadine grapes at their home, a simple yet special tradition that brought him much happiness.
Lee Roy is survived by his children: Gordon Billy Ward Sr. of Vidor, TX, and Agatha Romero of Gainesville, TX, as well as 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters Bonnie Garrett, Eva Jo Shelander, and Vera Melder and one brother.
His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends who were fortunate to know and love him.
