Kasey Kotara drove from her home in Orange to Sinton on Wednesday, determined to find her older sister Octavia’s ashes after her mother’s house burned down. “I told him I’m looking for an urn, if it’s still intact,” she said. “It’s bright red, you can’t miss it. My sister’s in there, so I need to find it.”
Kotara’s mother Lorraine Campbell’s home was completely destroyed in Sinton’s Welder Fire on Tuesday. Campbell and her dog are safe, but one of her most treasured possessions was lost: the red metal urn that held the ashes of Campbell’s eldest daughter, Octavia Boyd. KIII TV in Corpus covered the story.
