UW Celebrates a Year of Impact and Milestones
United Way of Orange County held its Annual Meeting and Banquet on February 27th, bringing together elected officials, donors, nonprofit organizations, and volunteers to celebrate a year of impactful community service and collaboration. The event highlighted key achievements in 2024 and set the stage for an even brighter future for the residents of Orange County.
The evening included a recap of the organization’s successes over the past year, including the funding of 20 partner agencies that work tirelessly across three essential focus areas: health, education, and financial stability. These agencies play a critical role in improving the lives of those in need throughout the county.
A major accomplishment in 2024 was the completion of the county-wide Community Needs Assessment, which will help direct donor funds to the most pressing needs in the community. This vital assessment ensured that resources will be allocated to areas that will make the most significant impact on the lives of individuals and families in Orange County.
In addition, United Way of Orange County celebrated the milestone of securing two consecutive years of one million dollars in pledges for its annual campaign, underscoring the community’s continued commitment to supporting those who need it most.
The nonprofit also shared information about the formalized impact projects which address immediate needs and make a tangible difference, some of which were electronic tablets for adult literacy, STEM toys for youth learning, and equipment to streamline food pantry distribution efforts. United Way of Orange County remains focused on empowering individuals with the knowledge and resources needed to create lasting, positive change.
The event also included the installation of new board members and the announcement of the 2025-2026 slate of officers, ensuring the continued strength and vision of the United Way of Orange County as it moves forward.
Throughout the evening, guests were reminded of the essential role that United Way of Orange County plays as a champion of the community, providing the tools and resources that individuals need to overcome obstacles and thrive. By working together, United Way of Orange County and its partners continue to make a measurable difference in the lives of people across in the community.
