Despite the rain last weekend a brush fire in Orange brought out every department Wednesday afternoon.
The fire ran through a grassy area at the corner of Hwy. 62 and Tulane. OCESD3 Chief Matt Manshack said he believed the fire started on the Hwy. 62 side and burned approximately eight acres before they were able to get it under control and finally out around 4:15pm.
The fire continued to burn despite firefighters standing in ankle deep water and mud. A strong south wind pushed the flames.
OCESD 1,2,3, and 4 responded along with the Orange Fire Department. Acadian was also there for support.
