Orangefield moves to 2-0 after opening up the Bridge City Invitational with a 5-2 win over Hamshire-Fannett. Matthew Johnson got the win after going 5 strong innings allowing 1 earned run on 4 hits while striking out 6. Raegan Valka got the save after retiring the side in order with 1 strikeout. The Bobcats were lead offensively by Carson Worthy with 2 hits to go along with an RBI. Matthew Johnson, Layne Reynolds, Carson Gonzales, Kyler Green, and Easton Sprayberry all pitched in hits as well. The Bobcats will be back in action against the Liberty Panthers at 1:30.
The Bobcat JV moved to 1-1 on the year after defeating the Vidor Pirates JV 8-6 in the Vidor Tournament. Case Comeaux paced the the offense going 2-2 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. The bobcats also got big contributions from Logan Anderson with 2 hits, Jack Pate with 2 hits and 2 runs scored, Adam Myers with a hit, a walk, and two runs scored, and Jaxon Agerton with a hit and two RBI’s. Logan Anderson picked up the win in relief going 1 1/3 innings with 4 strikeouts. The Bobcats will be back in action Friday at 10 Am against the Vidor Sophomore team.
SOFTBALL
The Orangefield Lady Bobcats went 1-1 on day 1 of the PN-G Slugfest tournament defeating Bridge City 4-1 and dropping to PN-G 4-3.
4-1 win vs Bridge City – Teal Kibodeaux got the win on the mound giving up 1 earned run on 3 hits with 5 strikeouts. Charlee Sanches led the way with a 2 run homerun in the top of the 1st. Hallee Becker had an RBI triple. Aubree Beck and Paisley Reeves both had walks and a run scored. Karlie Traxler added an RBI.
3-4 loss vs PN-G – Teal Kibodeaux got the loss on the mound despite giving up just 1 earned run on 6 hits with 5 strikeouts. Charlee Sanches had a single and a run scored. Teal Kibodeaux had an RBI double. Aubree Beck added a single. Laila Agerton and Hallee Becker both had walks and a run scored. The Bobcats move to 9-1 and will play Friday at PN-G at 2:20 vs. Hardin Jefferson and at 5:05 vs. HF.

Ella Stephenson was the winning pitcher, 2 earned runs, 1 BB, 2 K’s, 5 hits. Jillian Brown led the way at the plate going 2 for 2 and driving in 1 RBI. Keylie Washburn went 1 for 2 driving in 3 RBI’s(triple). Jones, Moss, and Stephenson each had a hit
