The conference provides a valuable opportunity for school leaders from around the state to come together to discuss and share innovative practices, network with peers, address the administrative issues administrators face daily, and gain fresh insights.
There are over 1,200 school districts in Texas and Vidor ISD Superintendent, Dr. Jay Killgo was asked by the Texas Education Agency’s Commissioner Mike Morath to join him in a panel discussion Monday morning in front of the thousands of school administrators in attendance at the conference. The purpose of the panel discussion was to highlight strategic priorities in Texas education and a continued focus on high-quality teaching and learning for Texas students leading to strong outcomes and preparation for college, career, and the military. Dr. Killgo shared his perspective on topics while highlighting the success of the district as well as the hurdles we face in these areas.
