
Stephen Earl Kelley, a beloved family man, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024, at the age of 69. Born on December 11, 1955, in Orange, Texas, Stephen was a man of strength and generosity. He was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and Earl Kelley, and his loving wife, Linda Maudine Kelley.
Stephen’s legacy lives on through his son, Shane Kay, and his step-daughter, Crystal Wickersham. He is also survived by six devoted sisters: Laura McClure, Carolyn Peveto, Earlene Lawless, Judy Chandler, Eloise Jacks, and Deborah Cacak who cared for him until the end. He will be greatly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who loved their Uncle Bubba dearly.
Stephen was a caring man who loved to cook and was known for offering everyone some of his home-cooked meals and sweet treats. He found peace and joy in the great outdoors, particularly in his boat or fishing with a cold beer in his hand. Stephen’s love for dancing to oldies was contagious, and he often shared joyful moments dancing with his loved ones. He enjoyed spending time with and spoiling his beloved German Sheppard, Apollo.
He was a pillar of strength for his family and loved hard. Stephen was a jack of all trades and was always there to lend a hand. His generosity and sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten.
A celebration of Stephen’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Stephen’s memory.
Rest in peace, Bubba. You will always be loved and missed.
