The Celebration of Life for Mrs. Rosa M. Scott, 88, of Houston, TX, a former Orange resident, will be held during a Funeral Mass Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 10am at St. Therese Catholic Church.
Rites of Christian Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Sparrow Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 8 until 9:30 am. A Rosary will be prayed at 9:30am.
Rosa Mae Jefferson was born December 23, 1934, in Gilbert, Louisiana to Sarah (Lynch) and William Jefferson.
Residing in Orange during adulthood, she was employed by the City of Orange and the West Orange Cove Consolidated Independent School District.
A member of the St. Therese Catholic Church, she was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, St. Ann’s Court #44, of the Knights of St. Peter Claver.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Scott, Sr. and son, Tommie Lee Scott.
Her summons from earthly life came December 15, 2024, at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Scott, Jr. (Karin) of Houston, and David Scott (Jamilah) of Austin, TX, two daughters, Lois Jean Scott and Carolyn Ann Scott, both of Houston, one brother, William Jefferson of Orange, one sister, Hannah Majors (Joe) of Houston, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
