It’s been a good couple of weeks for Angelo State freshman Demi Carter.
The Bridge City grad and her Belle teammates just captured the Lone Star Conference Tournament with a four set win over West Texas A&M. Carter had 14 kills in the championship game and joined two of her teammates named to the All-Tournament Team.
The week before the tournament Carter was named an All-LSC Honorable Mention selection and made the conference All-Freshman Team.
Monday Angelo State learned they are the top seed in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional and will host the NCAA Tournament inside the Junell Center – Stephens Arena on December 6-8.
The Rambelles will host the regional for the second time in program history and for the first time since 2016 when the Belles claimed the regional championship and advanced to the Elite Eight for the first time.
This is the 16th NCAA Tournament appearance for the Belles and the 12th under head coach Chuck Waddington.
Joining the Belles in the field are (in seed order) West Texas A&M, MSU Denver, DBU, Colorado Mesa, Texas Woman’s, UT Tyler, and Colorado Christian.
