
Delbert Ray Willis, 82, fulfilled his life’s dream of meeting Jesus face to face on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
He was born in Oakdale, Louisiana on September 13, 1942. Delbert devoted himself to the love of his life, his wife of 59 years, Patsy Ann Willis. Together they built a legacy of love and faith in Vinton, Louisiana.Left to cherish his memory is his “better half” Pat, along with their three children, Randall (Carla) Willis of Nashville, Tennessee, Mark (Amy) Willis of Vinton, and Michelle (Mike) Adams of Nashville, Tennessee; nine grandchildren including his favorite G-Rant; seven great-grandchildren (& counting); and his sister, Annette (Jay) Walker of Vinton. He is preceded in death by his parents, J.W. Willis and Myrtle Willis; and his sister, Melbalene Strother. Delbert served as a deacon at Crossroads Baptist Church where he was a member for more than 60 years. The congregation there will deeply feel his loss.
His funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, October 26, in Crossroads Baptist Church in Vinton. The Rev. Rob Tibbitts will officiate. Burial will be in Niblett’s Bluff Cemetery in Vinton under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of service Saturday in the church.
