Wednesday the Orange County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Honduras man who is wanted for murder in North Carolina.
Following a traffic stop on I-10 of a vehicle with three men, a murder warrant was discovered on one of them. He’s identified as 34 year old Ramon Funes. North Carolina authorities flew to Orange Thursday to interview him.
According to authorities and reports, Funes is wanted in connection to the murder of Khyre’ Jamaal Grier on September 26 in Charlotte, NC. Grier was found shot to death in the drivers seat of his tow truck. He was on the phone with his girlfriend and she could hear some men speaking Spanish and Grier saying he would “drop the car” before the call ended.
The murder was captured on a dashboard camera inside the tow truck. Authorities soon arrested Fabio Funes, 49, and charged with murder. They were also looking for his brother, Ramon, in connection with the murder and thanks to the OCSO he is now in jail.
