Monday night the City of West Orange recognized Officer Chuck Cobb for his courageous efforts to save Jonquetta Wishbush after she had a seizure and drove her car into a pond several weeks ago on Edgar Brown Drive. Citizens Corey Bull and Epifiano Munguia were also recognized for assisting. Winbush is now out of ICU and expected to recover.
Cobb, a veteran officer of 29 years with the last 8 at WOPD, said, “God put me in the right place.” Cobb said both doors were locked and they were able to break a window and Bull pulled her out. They brought her to the bank and Cobb began CPR and eventually got a pulse. She was then taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Bridge City PD and the Sheriff’s Department were also recognized for assisting during the accident.
