Today around 1105 am, firefighters from OCESD1 were called out to a residential structure fire at 1507 S. Timberlane in Vidor. Crews arrived approximately two minutes after being dispatched to find a single story home with heavy smoke and fire showing. Due to the extreme damage the home was a loss.
Fortunately the owners were not home. One firefighter was treated for heat related injuries. They were assisted by firefighters from OCESD#2 (Bridge City), OCESD#4 (Mauriceville), and Pinehurst fire departments.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
