On Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 10:46 AM, the Pinehurst Police Department received a report of a deceased subject located in Adams bayou. The body was discovered by fishermen. Pinehurst officers, with the assistance of Orange County Emergency Services District 3 responded to Adams bayou, South of the Interstate 10 turnaround. The body of a black male subject was recovered.
An autopsy has been ordered by Pct. 1, Justice of the Peace Hershel Stagner. The identity of the male subject is unknown at this time. The male has a mustache and other facial hair and has a tattoo on his chest. At this time, there is no foul play suspected, but this case is an ongoing investigation to find his identity.
