
Dale Mathew McElroy, 81, of Orangefield, TX, passed away on May 25, 2024. He was born on September 2, 1942, in New Orleans, LA.
Dale served in the Air Force for 7 years, showcasing his dedication to his country. He met his wife Sandra while in the Air Force, stationed at Barksdale AFB. After his military service, he embarked on a successful career at Neches Butane (Texaco/Huntsman) in Port Neches, where he worked for 32 years.
In his free time, Dale enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football, and reading/watching old westerns.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sandra McElroy, his children Joseph Austin & Amy McElroy, John & Sara McElroy, Mary Alfaro and Rena & Jon Clegg, as well as his beloved grandchildren Blade, Noah, Baley, Matthew, Abbey, Walker, Sawyer and Jack and great-grandchildren Branson and Grady.
A service to honor Dale’s life will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Beaumont, TX, on June 5, 2024, at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Stable Spirits. Dale loved horses and barrel racing when he was growing up in Hemphill, and this organization provides horse therapy for those struggling with mental health issues.
