Bridge City traveled to LCM for a district showdown and the two teams combined for just four hits. One of those was a two-run homer from BC’s Carson Fall in the fourth. That proved to be all the soon-to-be Kentucky Wildcat needed as she also struck out 18 in the 2-0 win over the Bears (4-3).
Anna Autrey singled in the fourth to bring up Fall who took a Tessa Erickson pitch over the green wall at The Pete for the lead. It was her seventh homer of the season. Erickson pitched well, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits with 6K’s and one walk against the undefeated Cards (8-0).
Fall also hit the 300 strikeout mark for the season and is getting close to 1000 for her career.

Lumberton shutout WOS 18-0. Baiyah Taylor was 2-3 with a HR, triple and 3RBI for Lumberton. Latessa Turner had the one hit for the Lady Mustangs.

Orangefield (20-8, 8-2) outscored Kirbyville 16-12. In a game that featured 27 hits, Charlee Sanches was 4-5 with a double, HR, and 5RBI’s. Aubree Beck added three hits (2 doubles) as the Bobcats had an 11-6 lead after the second inning and held on for the big district win to remain in second place behind Kirbyville.
Abigail Curphey got the win on the mound going 4 innings with 2 strikeouts and 3 earned runs. Sanches threw 3 innings with 2 strikeouts, giving up 1 earned run on 4 hits.
Paris Becker had 2 hits, an RBI and 4 runs scored. Haylee Spears had a double, a single, and 2 RBIs. Alysen Vincent had 2 hits, a walk, an RBI and 2 runs scored. Halle Becker added a double, an RBI, a run scored and a walk. Abby Broussard had a double, an RBI and a run scored. Abigail Curphey had a single, an RBI, and a walk. Audrey Sonnier added a run scored. OF travels to East Chambers on Friday with varsity only beginning at 6:00.

Vidor (5-3) pounded 18 hits in a 16-2 win over Silsbee. Madison Perkins was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 4RBI’s. Tylen Cassell homered and Mallory Guillot and Sophia Aguirre added three hits each. Natalie Morrison struck out 7 in the win.
