
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers investigated a crash on state Highway 105, near the 446-mile marker, that occurred today, March 4, 2024.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 12:20 p.m., a 2007 Honda Civic was traveling east, while a 2012 Honda Accord was traveling west. It is reported that the driver of the 2007 Honda was traveling around a curve at a speed which was unsafe during the rainy weather, causing the driver to lose control and travel into the oncoming lane, where he struck the 2012 Honda head-on.
The driver of the 2007 Honda, identified as 56-year-old Robert Christian of Evadale, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of life-threatening-injuries.
The driver of the 2012 Honda, identified as 27-year-old Daniel Gilson of Orangefield, was transported to Baptist Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
