The 2024 KOGT Mardi Gras Treasure Hunt ended Friday after the treasure was found by Ricky Brannen.
Brannen found the orange certificate inside a guy wire cover near the fence that splits the Brown Estate from Jett Cemetery on Park Ave.
Below are the clues and location of where the clues lead you. There’s also a video with a more detailed description.
Brannen is a repeat winner and an admitted Treasure Hunt Junky. The good news for the rest of you is that he can’t win next year! (Winners are not eligible the following year) Congrats Ricky and enjoy your $500 check!
Clue #1 – The Super Bowl is February 11 and it will feature the AFC Champion Kansas City Chiefs against the NFC Champs, the San Francisco 49er’s. It’ll be the first time for the game to be played in the City of Lights, Las Vegas, Nevada. Expect to see a lot of starrs at the game.
MEMORIAL PARK
Clue #2 – Waking up, maybe with your first cup of Joe, to read today’s clue. We’re so glad so many of you look forward to playing the KOGT Treasure Hunt each year. Some of you pray to find the treasure while others just throw caution to the wind. Just don’t wait until the last minute to put the clues together.
STARBUCKS / ST.MARY CHURCH
Clue #3 – Every team wants to play in the Super Bowl. Just like every performer would love to play on the halftime stage. Taylor Swift won’t be performing, but she’ll definitely be the Belle of the Bowl. There are teams that have never been on the big stage and one of those was passed over again last week.
LIONS PARK TO MAC ARTHUR
Clue #4 – Of course we always have some great snacks for the Super Bowl before settling in our favorite couch or recliner. Maybe even catch a nap during the six hour pregame. Reba will sing the anthem. There’s been many country female artists sing the anthem but The Dixie Chicks have been the only female group.
WALMART To Welch’s Furniture (BOWLing Lane)
Clue #5 – Give me some credit as we made it to Friday’s clue! And yes, I know the Dixie Chicks changed their name. Lady Antebellum did too. Back to football. You know it’s been 28 years since my Cowboys made the Super Bowl? I still remember what one of my guys said after they lost this year. The Cowboys are like the milk in my fridge, expired!
